Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire a love for the Spanish language and celebrate Latin heritage through an immersive and dynamic summer camp experience. We provide a unique blend of language learning, cultural exploration, and outdoor adventure where campers of all backgrounds can thrive. Through hands-on activities, engaging lessons, and authentic cultural experiences—including music, dance, traditional games, and folklore—we empower children to develop Spanish fluency while fostering a deep appreciation for diversity and global citizenship.

An incredible summer camp where language learning, cultural immersion, and outdoor journies come together in a joyful experience! Campers will not only boost their Spanish skills but also dive into the vibrant world of Latin culture. Through lively dance, music, traditional games, and captivating folklore, they will discover and celebrate the beauty of Latin heritage in a fun and engaging atmosphere. Themed Cultural Workshops

Campers will participate in hands-on workshops where they will learn about various aspects of different Spanish-speaking cultures, including art, cuisine, literature, and more.

Daily Instructional Specials

Music and Dance: Campers will groove to the beats of salsa, tango, and other traditional music styles, and learn basic dance steps in a fun and lively atmosphere. Sports: At Somos, we understand the significance of physical activity for children. That's why we've introduced daily sports classes, where campers can enjoy learning the fundamentals of soccer, track, and basketball in an enjoyable and engaging manner. Cooking: Once a week, a Guest Chef will come in to showcase that week’s regional cuisines and provide a cooking lesson for the campers.

Traditional Games

Campers will discover and play games that are popular in different Spanish-speaking countries, fostering teamwork and cultural understanding.

Folktales and Storytelling

Campers will be captivated by the enchanting stories and folktales from Spanish-speaking cultures, sparking their imagination and appreciation for oral traditions.

Language Immersion

Throughout the program, campers will communicate primarily in Spanish, enhancing their language skills while immersing themselves in the cultural experience.

Cultural Exchanges

Campers will have the opportunity to interact with guest speakers, cultural ambassadors, international pen pals and fellow campers from diverse backgrounds, exchanging ideas and experiences in a welcoming environment.

Global Perspectives

By exploring the similarities and differences among Spanish-speaking cultures, campers will develop a broader understanding of the world and appreciate the value of diversity.

Community Service

Campers will participate in a variety of service projects, such as environmental clean-ups, assisting local charities, or supporting community events. These projects will allow them to see firsthand the impact they can make through their actions.

Small Camp, Big Impact

Our curriculum and choice of facility was built with small group instruction and individualized attention for each camper in mind to ensure that Somos campers, families, counselors and leadership are all directly connected and involved with each other. Small, co-ed groups of 12 max with a 1:3 camper/counselor ratio.
